Hello everyone, It's been a real pleasure to talk to you all this semester and to meet some of you. Much to my regret, I will not be able to finish out the semester. The unprecedented global situation has placed my family and I (including my young children) on opposite sides of the world, and Australia's very recent travel ban (as of 20 minutes ago, in fact) would prevent their joining me for at least 6 months. I cannot leave my family in the United States under the current circumstances, so I've had to arrange a flight back tomorrow morning. This means essentially abandoning my post here--again, I truly apologize. However, I am leaving the unit in very capable hands, including Andy and Niccolo as well as other members of the philosophy department. Fortunately, we are in a fairly slow transition period this week, so I trust things will run ahead without much disruption.
