Za Writing Pieces at the beginning of 2020

Even though I lived in dormitory in high school, it still took me some time to adjust the dormitory life in university. I don’t know how to compromise, but I also don’t argue my way through disagreements.

In daily life, I am a quite reckless person.

Aug 27th, 2019 This morning, Hiram asked me to help him proofread and translated a few adjudicating –related sentences. He created a file for the adjudicating officers, which contains sample adjudicating sentences and key words. I was thinking, what a good idea it is!

When I was helping Hiram, I noticed a Chinese-English dictionary on his desk sill. Then, I asked him whose it is, but he also didn’t know. He said it has been there for a long time. This afternoon, I caught a chance to ask Jon whose it is, and he also didn’t know. So I grabbed it and had a look. Interestingly, it is a book from Hong Kong. The content is quite 详尽的。detailed.

We were required to label each bin of passports with the date, and the p.m./a.m. time. I prepared some post-its, and Chun suggested that we put all the post-its in the cage, so it would be easier for us to stick, and we would not forget about it.

Recently, I have been writing my stories in America. On one hand, I want to record what happened 9 years ago truthfully, but on the other hand, I want to be a compelling storyteller.

The majority of class time was dedicated to speech presentations (both prepared, but not the impromptu ones.

during which students will receive coaching and feedback. Other students were asked to comment on my work since key aim of the course was to learn to give and accept constructive critiques. It is important to know how to give feedback honestly and take it graciously. Consideration for-- and trust in-- your fellow students is essential for success in this class.

I was also given a number of written assignments. When you deliver a speech you will often be asked to hand in a written outline? You would also submit written evaluations of my own speeches and of other classmates’ speeches.

Final Examination

There will be an in-class final examination during the last week of the course. This short-answer exam will cover all material presented in class and in the assigned reading.

这次回学校时有点担心的，因为我怕搞行政的老师态度不好。之前打电话给我们学院的一个老师问类似成绩单和学分的事，因为已经毕业很多年，我已经忘记了自己当年的学号。说到这个问题，她说，“你自己学号都记不住啊？”我当时真的很想回她一句，你记得住么？因为这件事，之前对我母校的好感荡然全无。

后来跟教务处的老师联系，态度稍微正常一些，可是依然让人有点失望
