随着20世纪70年代超消费社会的幻灭，埃托创造了一系列简单、略显天真的铅笔画，其中包含了14个具有符号性特征的城市和建筑，它们描述了：

一种乌托邦的国土，在那里人类完全脱离工作和社会境况的限制。在画家未来主义想象中，那里的商品全部免费，产量丰富并分布于世界各地。没有银行、超市、地铁，每个人可以“通过自己的身体、精神状态和xing关系逐渐实现相互理解。一旦意识被重新唤醒，技术将会被用来强化自我意识，于是人类的生活也能与自然相协调。
