Becoming a Woman through Romance

The romantic ideal is celebrated in music, art and literature. One particularly thriving industry caters to the apparent unquenchable thirst for romantic stories. Romance fiction, directed at young women especially,is a multimillion dollar business. Although romance novels do not appear on the New York Times best sellers, their sales regularly match those of other best sellers.
(My opinion)It's plausible that women prefer to read romance fictions and other cultural products for fulfillment of ideal love but in contrast they seem more rational and cautious in real situations about intimacy relationships. Women especially young girls adopt these fabricated novels as a substitute for the real opposite sex unless they have experienced the intimacy process. Now I understand why I like reading romance fictions and watching art films so much.
