Billy Joe Thomas(本名叫做比利乔托马斯)，1942年8月7日出生于美国的 Hugo, Oklahoma(俄克拉荷马),后来在德州的休斯顿长大。是活跃于上个世纪60年代中期到80年代后期的美国流行乐坛，并对乡村音乐也有很高的造诣。曾5次获得格莱美奖。

"Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" 《雨点不断打在我头上》是1969 的电影《虎豹小霸王》 (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid),获得奥斯卡最佳原创歌曲奖的一首歌。福斯电影公司的一位主管在场听他录音，还佩服他为什么能够唱得跟男主角保罗纽曼那么相像，甚至问他怎么会想到刻意用那种粗糙的声音来演唱呢！

《虎豹小霸王》是保罗纽曼和罗伯特雷德福首度携手主演的西部片经典作，描述美国西部盗匪史中确有其人的布殊卡西迪和日舞小子携手闯荡江湖的传奇故事。两人原是十九世纪末著名的火车大盗，他们都喜欢上同一名女子，带着她到处做案和逃亡，最后在南美洲的玻利维亚被军队歼灭。
