广州东朝寻宝：云南省造光绪元宝银币
中国最早的机制洋式银元为光绪年间的“光绪元宝”，俗称“龙洋”，因银元背面一般铸有龙纹而得名。

光绪三十一年（1905年），云南获得批准设立分厂，厂址于旧宝云局地址上，现今昆明市钱局街，机器设备由德国进口，技术工人从四川调入，祖模系向天津厂请领，于光绪三十三年（1907年）建成银元局后又改名云南造币厂，生产“光绪元宝”新旧两类版别的银币。老版成色佳，市场流通信用较好，俗称“老云南”。

钱币正面铸有满文，顶部铸“云南省造”，中心直读“光绪元宝”四字，左右两边各一四瓣星花，下环铸币值“库平七钱二分”；

银币背面中央镌一个新版龙图，边缘环绕英文，上方为“YUN-NAN-PROVINCE”,下方为“7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS”,左右各镌一个四瓣花星。钱币工笔细腻，纹饰滚圆深竣，龙纹精致，龙爪飞扬，形神俱备，龙鳞珍珠纹粒粒无虚无粘，地章平整，光滑如板，有着极高的艺术价值。
