Commitment and Compliance
Generally when we make promise we will strugle to live up to it as this is obsessive desire of humans.When we make a choice we will make our action consistent with it automatically.When parents make promise to their kids to buy new toys during holiday,they must bring kids to shopping mall to expend all of their toy budgets. Once this demand cann't be satisfied due to lack of stock,parents should keep in mind that they made commitment earlier,cann't make stiff resistence to kids' pleas.
For the other part, business invariably make use of people's traits of mental to produce business's traps to product much more chances for people to shop.Some politicians or activists more often than not reach their goals in ways of making small requests then enlarge their demands.This is being called the foot in the door technique.In an experiment,some activists come to residents' home to request installing the sign of driving safely,85% residents refused.However when they only ask people sign a petition for supporting beautiful California,most of people signed it for such goals usually easily be satisfied,then these activists ask whether they agree to make sign of driving safely erected on their moan,85% agreed to it .The reason is when people made commitment to sign a petition,they also set up a new image of good-spiritual citizen,to keep this self-image,citizens must make compliance to keep consistent with it.
