致苏东坡的一封信

差不多一千年之后

我问着那些你问过的

同样的问题那些你发现自己不停

回返的问题

就好像什么都不曾改变

除了它们回声的音调变得更加深沉

而你知道的你前面

将要到来的时代已经变老

当夜里我坐在

悄静的山谷上方

想着你在你的河上

水鸟梦中那一层明亮的月光

我现在不比你那时

知道更多你在问的问题

而我听见

你的问题之后的沉默

今晚这些问题显得多么古老

［有位诗人要用这首译诗，提出让我修改两个他读着别扭的地方。我恼火了一会儿。想想，这么大人了，应该第一谦虚，第二也许会有疏漏和改进之处。 我坐下来，翻出原诗对照，发现漏译一个地方，而全诗的节奏也可以调整，就又重现译了一遍。隔几年修改旧译，基本等于是重译。翻译这个事啊，真没有绝对的，也确实不用太把自己当回事，认真就行，开心就行。］
