标题的意思是绝境，Bella问Edward到底什么时候才能把自己变成吸血鬼，Edward回答impasse，也就是逼到绝境，情非得已的时候才可以，后来的故事大家都知道了，他确实是在情非得已的时候才以变成吸血鬼的方式救得Bella.
