0004-Smart Village

It’s the first time that I talk about academic topics in blogs.
Nice Try.
So, what is ‘Smart Village’? How to define smart?
According to Jadhav Aditya A. etc.,
Smart village will serve as complementary engines of economic growth to smart cities producing goods and services for local rural markets as well as high-value-added agricultural and rural industry products for both national and international markets. And they will act as stewards for the environment as well as, in some cases, functioning as ecotourism hubs.

Shen Shilin pointed out that,
The construction of smart village refers to relying on advanced information technology, with smart methods, to make rural agricultural industry, promote rural management, improve the lives of farmer, and improve the living environment, through all-round management and service of agriculture, rural areas and farmers as well as monitoring and control of the whole chain of production, life, and ecology, it intends to construct enchanting new countryside and to realize the harmonious and sustainable development.
While Dr. Pritesh Y Shukla mentioned
A smart village is one which will automatically link local production with local procurement and local distribution. A smart village will also have power, knowledge, healthcare, technology, entrepreneurship and internet connectivity. A smart village will not only bring Internet connection to the rural lands, but will also provide support to sustainable agricultural practices. A network of small-scale industries linked to agriculture, and a strong network of rail and road corridors with civic amenities such as education and health for all, including

The basic concept of smart village is to collect community efforts and strength of people from various streams and integrate it with information technology to provide benefits to the rural community. According to Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy and thoughts smart village project provides, “Global means to the local needs.” The concept of smart village is defined as below,

And what I learned from UC Berkley’s smart village courses, is that model of India’s Smart Village’s model.

Normally, when people discuss smart city, they use three dimensions, one is technology, the second is creative people and the third is community. Current research of China’s smart village strategy focus on Technology and business model, whereas, what Michael intends to describe is the people and the way how rural people perceive and examine the larger question of how we should live.
I would hope to broaden the discussion beyond technical issues and views of man solely as an economic entity, to looking at whether our current rural development models work - do they reflect how people in village communities want to live, and how do we revise the current rural development models to create a world that is emotionally, spiritually and environmentally sustainable. The Smart Village serves as both a technical metaphor as well as a life metaphor for another path for China- an alternative to continued urbanization.
That is high above my understanding and it means that I need to work harder to dig more ideas and truth beyond the superficial phenomena.
Base on my current understanding and limited knowledge, Smart Village, is a concept of Sustainable life circle for rural and urban people can live harmoniously with less ecological disruption and convenient living condition.
To be continued.
