2018年3月14日，霍金逝世。Rameses B. 有一首电子乐《Moonlight》，我很喜欢，工作时经常会单曲循环。这首曲子里有一段旁白，是科普作家卡尔·萨根为霍金《时间简史》写的序言。网上目前有许多翻译版本，但感觉都不是很流畅，于是尝试以自己的理解翻译这段文字，以表敬意。
我们日复一日地生活于世，却对世界几乎一无所知。
阳光的产生机制使生命得以实现；重力将我们束缚在地球上，不让我们以涡旋轨道被抛到太空；原子构成了我们的身躯，并使之保持稳定。对于这些，我们思考的很少。
我们之中，很少有人会花时间惊讶自然界为何是这个样子：
宇宙从何而来？或者它是否一直在这儿？
时间会不会有朝一日倒流，并由此导致果先于因？
人类的认知范围是否终有极限？
物质的最小组成是什么？
为什么我们记住的是过去，而不是未来？
以及，为什么会有宇宙？
