“The Show Must Go On”是电影中的另一首歌，这是一首Pink剖析自己心理状态的短歌。此歌的前两段可以在封套中找到，但在电影中却听不到。Pink讲述了自己在筑迷墙之时所没有意识到的东面。“我不想让他们带走我的灵魂……”然后他又想是否他已变得太老或一切为时已晚？他是否已无力去摧毁这堵墙从而继续过正常人的生活？Pink甚至怀疑这一切是否已不值得尝试，因为死亡的阴影总是跟随着他。Pink决定“演出必须继续”。“演出”在这里暗喻着Pink的生活。

“Outside the Wall”与其说是讲Pink的，还不如说他从整体上讲到了那些为自己筑精神之墙的人。“那些真正爱你的人”在墙外行走，希望与被困在墙内的人取得联系。正象Pink的妻子在多次尝试与他沟通失败之后，只能在婚姻之外寻找新的方向。电影中的一段情节让我印象深刻：孩子们聚在一起收集从墙的废墟上掉下来的石头，把它们放在一辆玩具卡车里。在看到这一幕时我总是感到很迷惑：孩子们究竟是要丢弃这些砖块，还是要把它们收集起来筑自己的墙呢？这大概只有去问Roger Waters或Alan Parker了
