She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes: Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o'er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express How pure, how dear their dwelling place. And on that cheek, and o'er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent! 第一次读到这首诗,被这首诗优美的句子和韵律所打动。当时还不能理解更深,只觉得美。诗人是在见到一位穿丧服夫人后做下此诗。个人感受是对于出现在眼前的惊艳之人或物,我们词穷时,诗人用本不能描述之描述记录下这一刻感受成为千古流传佳句。有人读到此诗会联想到《西西里的美丽传说》,何谓美艳不可方物。又或许会联想到James Blunt 的《You Are Beautiful》 人群中远远一撇,心中热血翻滚,却也只有远观,又或是永不可再见。 The Road Not Taken BY ROBERT FROST Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black.
