Title Senior Software Engineer – Automation Architect

We’re investing heavily in making Quality an integral part of an ever leaner product development cycle. If you’re excited about designing new, flexible, scalable Quality Engineering test infrastructure to fuel innovation and agility, this role is a great fit.
We’re building a small team of highly skilled and adaptable software engineers to develop new and lean test methodologies, environments, and tool sets that:
• Streamline test-authoring needs for developers and test engineers across all organizations
• Shorten ramp up on our development-parallel-test methodologies
• Allow tests to be easily shared, automated, and consumed across all engineers
• Provide better analytics and more efficient and effective triaging, troubleshooting, test management and tracking
This role will involve not only writing new code, but designing it to scale with the company’s growth into the future. In addition to being self-directed, you'll need help drive solutions to challenging customer and technical issues, and have the tenacity and skill to deliver those solutions.

Responsibilities
• Write and deploy Isilon's new generation of QA infrastructure and tools, primarily in Python and various query languages
• Act as an architect and designer for various QA initiatives
• Respond quickly to feature requests and bugs so we can keep the engineering org rapidly delivering product
• Clearly document new tools and workflows as they are created
Requirements
• 3+ years of software development experience
• Strong Python programming skills
• Knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas: test or dev infrastructure, database design, SQL, tools development, microservice or REST API design, high performance log stores such as Logstash + Elasticsearch, computer storage, file systems, networking, network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks (SAN), high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Top-down and lateral problem solving skills
• Being always focused on, and obsessed with Customer satisfaction and delight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
Desired
• Extensive understanding of multithreaded, asynchronous, and distributed systems programming concepts
• Database administration or other related background
• Web application development
