Thrift Shop&OfferUp

最近搬家，真的是无力吐槽自己，这是今年第三次搬家，我的胳膊腿啊，还有钱💰。我本来是打算把我的旧家具送给一个朋友，因为她明年1月搬家之后，会用到这些家具，她也说好可以找一辆truck把这些家具拖走。可是在我搬家那一周周一，我想和她confirm这个安排时，她却迟迟不能给我一个确定的时间。我怕到最后没有地方和手段扔掉家具，就想能不能把它们都卖了。我有一个在gtech的同学推荐过GT Thrift Shop给我，说我可以在这个group里面卖东西。我当时和gt同学说，要在感恩节之后离开美国，不知道怎么处理家具，她就把这个推荐了我。我开始不好意思在里面post，因为我不是gt的学生，但当我看到有我的认识的人，同样也不是gt的学生，但是在里面卖东西，我的脸皮瞬间也厚了，哈哈哈。另外stella给我推荐了一个卖二手的app叫做OfferUp。我把我要卖的东西两边都po了。以下是售出结果：(排序按脱手时间）

Advantages of using GT Thrift Shop or any other University Thrift Shop Facebook Group
1. Everything happened within Facebook, easy to communicate
2. Things sold are things needed
3. The potential customer pool is huge
4. Priced at an affordable level
5. Not only items can be sold. Services are provided as well. For example, the sub-lease, the graduation picture services, and etc.
6. Alternative payment method. When I was receiving the payments, a lot of buyers suggested to use Venmo. I was told this App makes it easier to transfer money between friends. However, I have never used it and have no plan to use it in the future.
Advantages of using OfferUp
1. Bigger pool, but not necessarily easier to sell
2. Can post up to 5 pictures for one item
3. Easy to communicate within the App
4. Easy for seller to track buyers for one item
5. The negotiation price will show up on the item. For example, I listed my Kate Spade purse for $50. I got one message from a potential buyer saying she would offer me $30. Then my post has a $30 sticker on it.
除了家具，我还在offerup上面post了衣服，但是一件都没有卖出去，难过。读college的时候，我只在ebay上卖过衣服，而且仅仅成功了两次。一件是Ann Taylor的Shift dress with short faux sleeve。另一件是朋友的演出服，from kay Unger。都是成色非常新没怎么穿过，而且干净好看的衣服。唉，我现在就去ebay上把价钱改一改。
后来我算了一下，这次卖二手的钱，基本上cover了一半我当初花的家具钱，但是我卖的东西不仅仅是原来的家具，是我多年积攒的破烂儿们，再想了想前两次搬家花的钱，唉，回的这点儿本也就不算什么了。
