句子组合
句子组合（sentence combining）：有些时候我们在写作里需要把几个短的句子合并成一个长句。我们这么做的原因是：太多的短句会让你的文章不够连贯，如同海面的波浪一样起伏不定。在写作过程中使用句子组合技巧能提高你文章的格调。
句子组合是把简单的短句连接起来，变成较为复杂的长句。在写作中，句子的“复杂”主要体现在“具体”上，而不需要胡乱添加内容。
把短句变成长句有以下几种方式：
1.增加并列成分
2.增加修饰成分
3.增加连词
4.增加从句
合并句子的准则为：同一个词汇可以合并，变成从句或修饰成分。
比较下面这组句子在组合前后的变化：
组合前：Some people succeed.Otherpeoplefail. The difference is not the number of opportunities. It is whether they can take advantage of opportunities. Opportunitieswill arise in the course of one’s life, though they are rare.
组合后：
