Hi, long time no see. 嗨，好久不见。
This was our first English Corner in the year of the sheep. It always feels good to meet our EC friends here, both old and new.
羊年第一期英语角，在这里跟新朋旧友相聚，感觉总是棒棒哒。
Steven and Shirley hosted this Thursday night. Steven began with a joke of the year of the animal again, which reminded me of his joke of the year of the pig when we were partners. Shirley - I remember that when I joined EC the first time - she already hosted on the stage. Obviously, she appears more comfortable being the hostress now. Practice makes perfect.
Steven和Shirley是今晚的主持。Steven又讲生肖的冷笑话了，让我想起第一次跟他搭档主持的时候他说的那个属猪的笑话，不禁莞尔。Shirley，记得我初次参加英语角，她已经开始做主持啦，很明显，如今的她对于主持越来越得心应手了。熟能生巧呀。
As our host and hostress mentioned, we have five parts of every Thursday night: free talk (7:00-8:00), presentation (8:00-8:10), new comer introduction (8:10-8:40), speech (8:40-9:10), and game (9:10-9:20). Each part has its time schedule. So please make fully use of the time to speak, to listen, to share, and enjoy.
如主持所述，每周四晚的英语角分5个环节：7点到8点是自由讨论，8点到8点10分是小组简述，8点10分到8点40分是新人介绍，8点40分到9点10分是演讲时间，游戏时间放到最后。每一节都有固定的时间（当然有时候会因时制宜），所以参加的朋友就要好好利用这些时间去说，去听，去分享，去乐在其中囖。

The word 'Capricious' has been one of the most popular network hot words recently. From Vincent's point, it means focusing on sth you want to accomplish. Steven said it refers to do whatever you like. According to the dictionary, 'capricious' means somesone who often changes their mind unexpectedly. So, I think another word 'go-as-you-please' is more appropriate. W presented two ideas: flash marriage, quit the job and travel. Quitting the job and travelling did flash in my mind. But I'm afraid I can't. What about you?
“任性”是近来最火的网络热词之一了。Vincent看来，这意味着专注于实现你想做的任何事情。Steven说就是想干嘛就干嘛。根据词典，“任性”就是一个人常常任意的改变自己的想法去做事情。这么看来，我反倒觉得“随性”比较贴切了。W抛出他们组的想法：闪婚以及闪辞去旅游。辞掉工作去旅游这想法确实在我脑中闪过，也就闪闪罢了，无法任性啊~你呢？
The smog, of course we know it. It is so close to us in Zhongshan these days. The air quality is becoming worse. Maggie's presentation was interesting. She told us that smog consists of two words--smoke and fog; smog is smoking fog. However, comparing the situation with other big cities like BJ, SH, Zhongshan is much better. Vincent considered that our government has much more responsiblities for that. As a citizen, all we can do is to start small.
雾霾，当然知道啊，这些天它跟我们实在靠太近。中山的空气质量是越来越差了啊。Maggie说的很有趣，她告诉我们雾霾包含了2个名词--烟和雾，雾霾不就是直冒烟的雾嘛？（这环境是要火冒三丈啊）不过跟老北京和大上海相比，中山的雾霾小儿科了。Vincent认为政府对此负有更多更大的责任。我们小市民嘛，能做的就是小事做起，举手之劳做环保。
EC was established on 13 Mar,2014. It'been one year for our gathering. How time flies. Molly clearly remembered the details of her first time in EC. She's our old friend and one of the volunteers. Do you remember when did you join our EC? How did you feel at that time and how do you feel now? You may have struggled at the very beginning, just like me. Finally I convinced myself, and changed bit by bit in this big family. Speaking of this, numberless images came up in my mind vividly.
英语角是在2014年3月13日建立的，相聚已有一年了。日月如梭啊。Molly清楚的记得她第一次来英语角的每一个细节。她是英语角老朋友了，还是志愿者之一。你还记得自己什么时候加入英语角的吗？当时的是什么感觉？而今又是什么感受呢？ 一开始的时候，你或许也跟我一样有过挣扎要不要加入好。我最终说服了自己，然后在这个大家庭里一点一点的改变。说到这里，数不清的影像在脑海中清晰浮现，满满的都是难忘回忆。

We had many new friends tonight.
Hanks was so earnest to introduce himself with an prepared paper.
Karen, a pretty young girl from Jie Yang, now as a trading assistant.
Elyse, majored in English and had taught English for 4 years, now as HR. She gave me the impression of an able woman.
Ada is my friend. She's working on BBQ grills. I recommended her several times to join our EC. She said she will until she feels better with her spoken English. She doesn't need to, as her English is already good.
Sandy also prepared her selfj-introduction. She wanna test her English here.
Another lady whose name I couldn't catch, from Guiping, Guang Xi, working in a trading company selling lights and furnitures.
Vincent, an English teacher in No.1 Middle School. He like hiking a lot. Welcome to join his hiking activities. It was interesting that when he asked what kind of jobs we're doing, he would say "Oh I envy you!" On the contrary, we all replied that we envy him as he has two long vocations.
Lily, a beautiful and soft-spoken girl. The question for her was how she made her hair style. EC friends' questioning is always surprising.
有好多新朋友哦：
Hanks很是认真的准备了自我介绍的写稿。来自揭阳的美眉Karen是外贸助理。Elyse是英语专业的，教过4年英语，如今是HR，感觉她是一个很厉害的人。Ada是我的朋友，从事BBQ器材贸易；跟她推荐英语角好几次了，她就说要先把口语练好了才来，好谦虚啊，本来就说的很好的了。接下来的这位朋友我没听到她的名字，来自广西桂平，从事灯饰和家具贸易。Vincent，在一中教英语，他很喜欢徒步旅行，欢迎志同道合者呀；有趣的是每次他问我们从事什么工作后，都会说“啊好羡慕你啊！”，相反，我们都会回答说羡慕他，因为他有美好的寒暑假！Lily说话好温柔啊，又漂亮；有人提问她的发型是怎么弄的。这...英语角朋友的提问还总是出其不意。

Wow, it was David's speech! I bet all of you know about him, one of the organizer of EC. At this opportunity, he shared his feelings of EC and praised the volunteers one by one. Too shy for that. EC is one-year old already. It is him who made it. It is Annie who made it. It is all of us who made it.
噢，David演讲了！相信大家都认识David了，他是英语角的组织者之一呢。藉新年第一期，他跟大家分享了英语角一路以来的所感所想，还把现场的志愿者逐个逐个点名赞了一番，好害羞哟。不知不觉英语角已经一岁了。因为有David有Annie的组织，因为有你有我的参与，才有这一年的美好。
Win also shared her feelings of EC. She infected us with her literary words. As one of the veterans, Win has personally witnessed the continued growth of EC. A novel about EC sounds wonderful. Don't you think so?
Win也是分享了在英语角的感受。她用文艺的一词一句感染着每一位听众。作为英语角元老级人物之一，Win是亲身见证了英语角一直以来的成长的。一部与英语角有关的小说听起来好赞啊，是不是？
Uh...My turn. My topic was Distance. I found a paper with interesting combination of letters, which shows I Like You So Much in Chinese characters from some distance. Distance is a double-edgedsword. What distance will produce is anyone's guess, but there must be something you can only see from a distance.
呃...到我了，题目是<距离>。我找到了一张纸条，上面是一堆堆的字母，近看乱七八糟的，远一些看看到的却是汉语“我好喜欢你”。有趣吧？距离就是一把双刃剑，它能产生美感也能造成伤口，没有人能猜透，但是偏偏有一些东西，有一些事情，只有隔着一些距离才能看得到。

Adeline is really good at designing games for fun! This time two guessers guess what each other presents with the headphone on. Of course the music is playing so that the guessers can hear nothing even shouting at each other. And that's the point--shouting makes it funny. It was a pity that time was not enough for the game. So let's play it next Thursday!
Adeline真的是好会设计好玩的游戏! 这次的游戏跟上次有一点不同，就是要两个猜的人同时带上耳机然后互猜对方要表达的意思，当然耳机是放着音乐啦，这样不管对方怎么大喊大叫也听不到。这正是游戏的好玩之处--越叫是越开心啊。遗憾是不太够时间去玩游戏，所以，留待下个周四一起玩吧！

What a long diary. I'm trying to keep it short already. From next week on, we decided to add a Chinese speech time. You can share anything in Chinese without worring about your Spoken English. We hope that through this way, we can encourage more friends to speak on the stage and practice, so as to lay the foundation of English speeches.
这日记好长啊，已经很努力的写短一些了呢。从下周起，我们决定了演讲环节增加一个中文演讲。大家可以用中文分享事情，不用担心英语不够好而不敢讲不想讲啦。我们是希望通过这样一个安排，可以鼓励更多朋友站在台上表达自己，锻炼自己，从而为以后的英语演讲奠定基础。
