词汇学习：“睡城”英语怎么说？

所谓的“睡城”是指大城市郊区的大型居住区，这里的居民绝大多数每天都要坐很长时间的公交车、地铁或者开车通勤上下班，甚至生活、娱乐、购物等等都要在别的地方解决。这里几乎只是每天晚上睡觉的地方，其它什么都做不了，故被戏称为“睡城”。北京著名的“睡城”有望京、回龙观、天通苑，甚至通州区也被视为睡城。这个词的英语说法目前网上几乎只能查到源自中国英文媒体的 Sleepers’ Town 和一些英语学习网页。但这个说法实际上是纯正的中国土产英语词汇。“睡城”的出现算是一种大城市病，发达国家几十年前就生过，照例是会在英语留下痕迹的。“睡”这个字英语里可以是：commuter、bedroom 或者 dormitory。
“睡城”在英语中有如下叫法：
Bedroom community、bedroom suburb（加拿大、美国用法）
Dormintory town、dormitory suburb（英联邦、爱尔兰用法）
Dormitory village（英联邦、爱尔兰用法，不常见）
英文的词典：
Dormintory：a residential community consisting of homes for sleeping and personal activities from which the majority of the working population commute to places of employment, trade, and recreation <brings the millions from their dormitory suburbs to their benches and desks and takes them home again at night — Samuel Pollock> 
Bedroom：inhabited or used by commuters <a fringe of bedroom towns around the city> 
Commuter：one that commutes (as between suburban home and city work) 
中国出版的汉英词典里有 bedroom，但明显不接地气，是解释而非翻译，再版时应该更新成“睡城”。
bedroom suburb：[美国英语]城郊住宅（或宿舍）区（住在那里的人白天在城里工作，晚上才回到郊区的家里）

这再次验证了我的想法，人类的思维方式是相通的，只不过有时思考的角度不大一样而已。这个 bedroom 不就是“房事”里的“房”吗？这个 bedroom 大约可以翻译成“风情万种”、“无限风情”、“妩媚迷离”、“眼神热辣”之类的说法。
不过他们还有一种喜剧叫 bedroom farce，貌似现在中国还没有，编剧们可以开发一下：
Bedroom farce：a play dipicting an absurd situation deriving from one or more (esp. extramarital) sexual adventures
这个大约可以翻译成“闺房闹剧”。
另外这个肯定不陌生了：
Bedroom slipper 室内拖鞋：a fabric or soft leather house slipper often without heel or counter
