道德經 九章(養生)

持而盈之，不如其已；
揣而銳之，不可長保。
金玉滿堂，莫之能守；
富貴而驕，自遺其咎。
功遂身退，天之道也。
English version:
To take all you want
Is never as good
As to stop when you should.
Scheme and be sharp
And you'll not keep it long.
One never can guard
His home when it's full
Of jade and fine gold:
Wealth, power and pride
Bequeath their own doom.
When fame and success
Come to you, then retire.
This is the ordanied Way.
譯文：
把持而使它滿盈，不如趁早停止；
錘擊而使它銳利，不能保持長遠。
金玉滿堂，沒有誰能守護；
富貴而驕，自己招致禍患。
功成身退，這是自然的規律。
