故事

朋友，也许你不关心政治。即使关心，我们彼此的观点也不一样。 但是，我相信我们生来都是向往自由的。 我还相信我们每个人对人性的善与恶都不是漠然的，所以我们有共通的正义和公平的概念。
撇开这些概念不说，我相信我们都会被《肖申克的救赎 The Shawshank Redemption》或多或少地打动。如果真是这样，陈Guang诚（其实我很讨厌不能正常写字）的故事也一定会感动我们。这是一个超越体制、超越肤色、超越时代的故事，具备一部优秀文学或电影作品的所有元素。四年前我在Phillip Pan的Out of Mao's Shadow一书中第一次读到他的故事，联想到另一部伟大电影Amistad，Antonio Hopkins所扮演的John Quincy Adams在最高法院上有一段极精彩的演讲，其中有几句: "so heavy the weight of the medals and honors we would bestow upon him. Songs would be written about him. The great authors of our times would fill books about him. His story would be told and retold, in our classrooms. Our children, because we would make sure of it, would know his name as well as they know Patrick Henry's..."
时隔四年，这个故事的延续似乎验证了那段演讲中的另外几句: "The natural state of mankind ... and I know that this is a controversial idea...is freedom...And the proof is the lengths to which a man, woman, or child will go to regain it once lost. He will break loose his chains. He will decimate his enemies. He will try and try and try again, against all odds, against all prejudices.
但这首先不是一个故事，而是一个发生在光天化日下的活生生的事实，发生在一个“和谐的太平盛世”下的刺眼的事实。
