此次展览集中了谭平五年来重要的艺术作品约五十幅。谭平的抽象艺术 具有社会学出发点，其作品在颜料、画面的结构、画面的质地等方面都具备抽象绘画比较重要的属性，但是谭平从事抽象艺术的出发点实际上 是很现实的。他把对现实生活、现实世界或者说现实事物的一种感受作为自己表达的出发点和契机，形成了在描绘的过程中采用抽象语言的形态。所以我们可以从谭平的作品中解读到某些社会学的遗骸，也正是在这个意义上，他的抽象艺术不是一种简单的、西方的样式，也不是一般层面上对西方抽象艺术的回应，而是依据自己立足的中国现实生活土壤，特别是现实文化状况所生发出来的一种精神形象和情感形象。
This exhibition includes almost fifty important art works by Tan-Ping from the past five years. Tan-Ping’s abstract art work is based on sociology. The pigment, composition and material of his paintings always express more important characteristics of abstract art. But the original point of his abstract art is actually concrete and realistic. His feelings about the real world and real things form the basis of his art and are used to develop his abstract art language. So we can discover traces of sociology in Tan-Ping’s works. That’s why his abstract art is not a simple western form or a simple response to western art, but is based on the reality of Chinese life, especially the spirit and motion of reality culture.
