A.D.柯曼自1967年以来出版了八本书和写作超过2000篇关于摄影和相关主题的评论文章。曾为Village Voice《乡村之声》， 《纽约时报》及New York Observer《纽约观察家》专栏作家。柯曼为《艺术新闻》、《Art On Paper》及《科技评论》等杂志撰稿。他的关于大众传播媒体，新传播技术，艺术及摄影的专题评论文章通过国际传媒集团在许多期刊上发表，如《朱丽叶艺术杂志》(意大利牘)、《欧洲摄影》(德国)及La Fotografia (西班牙)。他的著作已被翻译成21种语言在30个国家出版。

In this slide-illustrated lecture, the New York-based critic, historian and curator A. D. Coleman will discuss some of the notable public and private collections of photographs assembled during the final decades of the 20th century. He will use these examples to point the way toward a more thoughtful, systematic, and thematically based approach to collecting photography, which he believes will become the distinguishing features of the new century's photo collections — private, corporate, and institutional.

This question and answer session between critic, historian and curator A. D. Coleman and the deputy director of TAM, Li Xiaqian, will provide essential information and critical insights into photography as a creative medium and a form of material culture. It is designed for curators, collectors, gallerists and others concerned with issues involving the making, collecting, marketing, preservation and presentation of the various forms of photographic objects produced during the medium’s pre-digital phase. It will also address the digitalera equivalents and offshoots thereof. Its ideas and suggestions will be drawn from Coleman's experience during the past four decades in the field.
Among the issues to be considered: connoisseurship and its functions; editioning and numbering of prints; the body of work; the photographer's relationship with the negative file; "original" and "vintage" prints; the market for photographs in the west; and the dematerialization of photography via digital imaging.
