Prettiest Friend

I wrote this song back in 2004 for my prettiest friend, TP. I wrote it from a place of total admiration. Attracted to the light of her independence, allure, ambition, and effortless creativity, I flew right in and fell head over heels upon landing.
I don’t think I’ve ever recovered from that initial fall.
I recently came across this video (below) that someone made for their prettiest friend and it made me smile, especially that the illustrator got one tiny word wrong that changed my whole story.
In the second verse I wrote, “I’m a nonesuch-unsuitable suitor for her” which demonstrates the little faith I had in myself to be her leading man. In this video, the graphic reads “I’m a nonesuch-unsuitable, SUITED for her” implying that an underdog like me has EVERY chance in the world to be with a girl as wonderful as she. I am grateful for the slip.
