   4月24日，HBO播出了这部几乎完全忠实于真人真事的《死亡医生》，巴里•莱文森没有卖弄任何导演上的技巧，而只是从杰克的视角出发，不动声色地展现了这么多年他如一个孤独的战士般为安乐死肝脑涂地的过程。而古稀之年的阿尔•帕西诺则久违地光芒四射，异常锋利，以不老的演技战胜衰老的外表，令杰克医生的个人魅力或许甚至超过了现实真人版。
一直觉得阿尔帕西诺是一个了不起的演员，在这部影片中，他成功的演绎了一个可爱固执理智又理想主义的老头，他关怀每一个个体，同时又显得偏执，甚至到了最后只身直接去向体制挑衅。然而影片的最后并未把他塑造成一个独立特性的成功的人，他只是一个普通人，在争议中为个体带去了选择的权利，争议伴随他们一生，法律也给予他们制裁，但是，无论他人怎样看，他们激起的不同观点的碰撞本身就在推动着更多人思考这些禁忌的话题，这也是他们启蒙的价值，这也为今后的改变积蓄着令人充满信心的力量。
