时至今日，艺术界仍是一个男性主导的行业。然而，女艺术家们正在通过自己的毕生努力为自己的性别正名。
她们中，有大胆的、固执的、意志坚强的；也有传统的、浪漫的、生前默默无闻的。她们的共同点是，当发现自己与众不同时，她们决心避免浪费自己那令人难以置信的天赋。随着时间的推移，艺术史中出现了一幅“以她为名”的无边画卷。时至今日，这幅画卷，仍在书写。
