有用的英文增补
本来想用财富杂志的风格写一篇虚构的财经文章的。我改主意了。还是继续写单词。这个增补部分的大部分单词也是在英美媒体的文章中会用到的。明天还会写一些有用的习语。
Lothario: 好色之徒的意思
Impetuous: 冲动的。
Snipe at: 抨击
Regurgitate：拾人牙慧的意思
Sneer at: 嘲笑。
Cagey: 小心谨慎。
Coy: 含糊其辞的.
Cavalier: 漫不经心的
Chary: 谨慎的. 通常写be chary of.
Leery: 怀疑的。通常写be leery of.
Fortify: 加强。这里也能用cement.
Indignant: 生气。
Precarity: 不稳定状态.
Cognizant: 了解熟悉的意思。也能用be privy to.
Discombobulate: 使混乱, 困惑.
Piddle: Piddle around的意思是做无聊事， 比如闲逛。
Mosey: 也是这个意思。也能用mooch.
Collude: Collude with someone的意思是和某人合谋。
Cavort: 嬉戏。
Somber: 忧郁的。
Disrepute: ;名誉扫地。
Hebetude: 迟钝。
Roister: 如果用英文形容一个胡闹的年轻人，尤其是参加party的，那写a roistering lad 就好。
Oleaginous: 阿谀的。
Disavow: 否认.
Disown: 否认对…的责任
Nix: 反对。
Rebut: 反驳。
Refute: 驳斥
Pooh-pooh: 对…不屑一顾.
Disabuse: 使省悟, 比如写to disabuse him of the notion that he is superior to his employees.
Ingratiate: 讨好。通常写 ingratiate oneself with.
