I’ll See It When I Believe It - Eric Owen Moss
Instinct to method Here is how it happens: Somewhere there is an instinct, The culture says: No. The architect insists, resists, Begins to explore, evolves, becomes pragmatic, Becomes experienced, becomes system, Becomes methods, becomes teachable, Becomes learned, becomes culture. A practiced pattern of practice replaces the original instinct. What did not exist, Fumbles, tumbles, stumbles, Does not crumble, Stands provisonally, Unsteady to steady, unbalanced to balanced, And comes to rest as a new proformer. Now the culture says : Yes. Too late!
