I love the Fellow's Garden

09:00 - 11:00 Individual Matriculation Photo

We booked to take individual matriculation photos at the first court. Then I went to the buttery for a croissant and tea, then Josep and Mihir joined me. Then we went to the second court to take photos ourselves.
11:00 - 11:30 Induction meeting with the senior tutor
This was at Yusuf Hamied Theatre.

12:00 - 14:00 MCR BBQ
It's gonna be in the vlog so I'm not going to describe it. But basically I just chatted with Josep, Chris and Doris. Doris is a girl I just met today from Taiwan. I also chatted quite a lot with Marguerite, we talked about fashion stuff, and she said that if I go to thrift shops I should get her as well, which is very nice.
14:00 - 16:00 College history and tour (but pub actually)
In the Yusuf Hamied Theatre, this old professor introduced the history of Christ's College to us. Then there was a tour, but we sneaked off. I went to the pub with Callum and emmm I forgot his name, the singaporean real-estate finance guy. It was the Brewhouse, I got an espresso martini —— I didn't realize the buying round thing. So I thought we were buying separately so I bought a random thing, but then Callum bought the first round which I think is what people do, then I felt bad about getting and espresso and asked to get a beer instead, Callum said not to change, then the bartender just suggested an espresso martini to solve the dillemma. It was nice actually. Then the other guy got the next round, I got smart and said I'll have whatever they are having, which was enigma (a type of pale ale). The bartender also offered us a shot of tequila rose —— which is by faarrr the best drink I've had at a pub, it's very sweet with a touch of alcohol. And I did a shot for the first time! We were supposed to be at the tutor social event at the function room by 3 pm, but we missed it cause Callum got the time wrong hahaha. (This reminds me, it's so funny, last night when we left the Christ's MCR party to go to the party thing at Clare College, Chris was like, great this is how I start my PhD, in his sarcastic way). Honestly though, it's so much drinking, even after the chapel service they served wine, I intentionally did not get any.
18:00 - 19:00 Fresher's Service

The chapel at Christ's is very beautiful, I especially love the golden eagle where the Chaplaine delivered the sermon. Apparently you can ask the Chaplaine and light the candles or speak at the eagle. The choir and organ player at Christ's are good, I would have preferred Sister's Act vibe more, but the angelic hymns are impressive as well. Most students here are definitely not religious, but the Chapel's services are open to everyone, it's really quite peaceful.
