Preface_Phantom SeaTransientScenery
2022年11月24-26日,我们很荣幸地在2022中国海洋经济博览会呈现《幻海瞬境——虞兰因新水墨作品展》。海洋开放、包容、共生,蕴含人类起源之初,也是人类城市文明底色,同时孕育着无尽的探索和创新动力。深圳因海而生,凭海而兴,正处于建设全球海洋中心城市这一重要窗口期,强大科技实力与面向未来的海洋资源相结合所带来的产业优势,将推动深圳在海洋领域的城市影响力,助力中国蓝色产业的增长。此次展览不仅仅是一次虞兰因本人艺术造诣与精神境界的呈现,也是中国将建成“美丽中国·海洋强国”的重要文化体现,有着海洋文化、环保意识与人文寻根三重意义。
From November 24 to 26, 2022, we are honored to present "The Phantom Sea-- Yu Lanyin's New Ink Painting Exhibition" at China Marine Economy Expo 2022. The ocean is open, inclusive and symbiotic. It is the origin of mankind and the background of human urban civilization. It also breeds endless impetus for exploration and innovation. Born and prospered by the sea, Shenzhen is in an important window period of building itself into a global Marine center city. The industrial advantages brought by the combination of strong scientific and technological strength and future-oriented Marine resources will promote Shenzhen's urban influence in the Marine field and boost the growth of China's blue industry. This exhibition is not only a presentation of Yu Lanyin's own artistic attainments and spiritual realm, but also an important cultural embodiment of China's efforts to build a "beautiful China and a maritime power", with three meanings of Marine culture, environmental awareness and cultural root searching.
虞兰因为著名爱国华侨艺术家,其父为台湾著名艺术批评家、作家虞君质,曾任香港中文大学艺术系系主任,著有我国第一本艺术批评著作《美术年鉴》。虞兰因从事水墨研究与创作50余年,其水墨作品享誉国际。虞兰因出生于书香门第,祖籍浙江宁波,幼时随父母赴台湾。7岁起便师从黄君璧、高逸鸿、溥心畲、孙多慈等多位名家研习国画,受到诸位前辈与父亲虞君质先生的深刻影响,思想通泰的成长环境给予她很大程度精神的浸润与滋养。20岁时,年少的虞兰因就在台北中山堂举办首次个展,获画坛一举瞩目,同年9月获全额奖学金赴美深造,在美国路易斯维尔大学(University of Louisville)获艺术创作、艺术史双硕士学位,后在纽约艺术研究院(New York ASL)随威尔·巴内特(Will Barnet)大师工作深造多年。1993年她回归祖国故里,长居广东。从2021年起,虞兰因在中山设立“墨海斋”艺术工作室,从此长居于中山创作与生活。
Yu Lanyinis a famous patriotic overseas Chinese artist. Her father is Yu Junzhi, a famous art critic and writer in Taiwan. She used to be the dean of the art Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and wrote China's first art criticism book Fine Arts Yearbook. Yu Lanyinhas been engaged in ink painting research and creation for more than 50 years, and her ink painting works are internationally renowned. Yu Lanyin was born in a scholarly family in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. She went to Taiwan with her parents when she was young. Since the age of 7, she studied traditional Chinese painting from Huang Junbi, Gao Yihong, Pu Xinshe, Sun Duoci and many other famous artists, by your predecessors and father Mr. Yu Junzhi profound influence, thought Tongtai growth environment gave her a great degree of spiritual infiltration and nourishment. At the age of 20, the young Yu Lanyin held her first solo exhibition in Taipei's Zhongshan Hall and won the attention of the painting world. In September of the same year, she went to the United States with a full scholarship and obtained a double master's degree in art creation and art history from the University of Louisville. After that, he worked for many years with Master Will Barnet at the New York ASL. She returned to her homeland in 1993 and lived in Guangdong. Since 2021, Yu Lanyin has set up "Mohaizhai" art studio in Zhongshan, and has been living and creating in Zhongshan for a long time.
展览标题《幻海瞬境》缘起于王勃的《释迦如来成道记》:“悬日月於幽宵,布舟航於幻海。”“幻海”,本是佛法对尘世的譬喻。“瞬境”,意为当下瞬时景观,亦可为某种特定的心灵、精神状态。在疫情仍然蔓延的当下,我们比以往更需要信念与安全感,也更加求诸于深层次的意义。在此刻正在发生的艺术史上,虞兰因的作品正在书写着她自己的独特。她的作品有无可比拟的敏感与梦幻,海底世界的瑰丽与神秘传达出深刻的疗愈精神,契合于当代人所需的心灵慰藉。她将东方水墨意蕴与西方抽象绘画的精髓融合进创作理念,在创作方式上采取“解构与重塑“的方式,无问东西,浑然天成。在作画过程中,她往往需要进入某种澄明之境,将自己潜水与冥想的以往经验“碎片化“式拾掇与拼接。《墨魂》与《墨海沉潜》系列呈现着未被人类染指的美妙世界和生命本应有的模样——海底,为抽象本体,亦为无限意识的容纳与衍发。一幅画的完成即为一次全新抽象海底的生命形成。此次展出的作品以虞兰因2022年于“墨海斋”创作的新作为主,亦即她艺术生涯中重要的代表作——《墨魂》系列的延续,该系列创作源泉为虞兰因在深海潜水时的冥想世界。这一批作品相较于此前的《墨魂》系列,画面中比以前新增了更多的柠檬黄、赤橙、宝石绿等多种更为鲜明、瑰丽动人的色泽,明亮、活泼与通透感映照着艺术家近年来的心境变化。这是虞兰因2022年新作首次与公众见面。
The title of the exhibition, "The PhantomSea," derives from Wang Bo's "Sakyagata into the Road Record" : "Hanging sun and moon in the quiet night, cloth boat sailing in the phantomsea." The "phantom sea" is the Dharma's metaphor for the world. "Transient Scenery" means the instantaneous landscape of the moment, or a specific mind and mental state. At a time when the epidemic is still spreading, we need faith and a sense of security more than ever, and we seek deeper meaning. In the art history that is happening at this moment, Yu Lanyin's work is writing her own unique. Her works are incomparable in sensitivity and dreaminess. The magnificence and mystery of the underwater world convey a profound healing spirit, which is in line with the spiritual comfort needed by contemporary people. She integrates the connotation of Oriental ink painting with the essence of Western abstract painting into her creation idea, and adopts the way of "deconstruction and reshaping" in her creation method, which is natural without asking anything. In the process of painting, she often needs to enter some kind of clarity, and her past experiences of diving and meditation are "fragmented" and pieced together. "Soul of Ink" and "Sinking in the Ink Sea" series show the wonderful world and life that have not been touched by human beings should look like -- the bottom of the sea, as an abstract noumenon, but also as the containment and evolution of infinite consciousness. The completion of a painting is a new abstraction of life under the sea. The works in this exhibition are mainly Yu Lanyin's new works created in the "Mohai Zhai" in 2022, which is also a continuation of the "Soul of Ink" series, an important masterpiece of her artistic career. The source of the series is Yu Lanyin's meditation world during deep-sea diving. Compared with the previous "Soul of Ink" series, this batch of works has added more vivid, magnificent and moving colors such as lemon yellow, red orange and gemstone green. The brightness, liveliness and transparency reflect the changes of the artist's mood in recent years. This is the first time Yu Lanyinmeets the public for her 2022 novel.
“我在深海里潜游多年,这使我认识到水的特性——无论是在物质上还是在精神上,水都是利万物而不争。无论多么美妙的水质形态都可能在转瞬间被摧毁,而呈现在眼前的永远是无休止的分离与重组。形变幻无穷,本体却始终存在。无常和永恒——这两种感觉都存在于我的生活和工作中。这种道家的双重感受是中国哲学的源泉,也是我创作的源泉和动力,这就是为什么我认为永恒是一种水所象征的东西。”虞兰因如是说,“活在当下,珍惜瞬境是我们最终需要面对的课题。”作为一名使用中国传统水墨为载体的当代抽象、观念型与疗愈型艺术家,虞兰因亦深度关注自然与人类心灵健康的关系,致力于通过作品带给观众心灵的洗涤,体会艺术疗愈之于当下世界的缓冲、融合意义。她在绘画中疗愈自己,同样,观者也在观看中找到生命的意义。
"I have been diving deep into the sea for a long time - this has helped me realize that the character of water, both physically and spiritually, is to moisten and soften all things without competing with them. No matter how fantastic the shape of water is, its form may be dissolved in an instant, and what appears in front of me in this moment is a wisp of its eternal separation and reorganization. Its forms are always changing, and yet water itself remains throughout. Impermanence and eternity - both feelings are present, in life and in my work. This dual feeling of Taoism is the source of Chinese philosophy, which is also the source and motivation of my creation."Said YuLanyin,"Living in the moment and appreciating the moment is what we ultimately need to face."As a contemporary abstract, conceptual and healing artist who uses traditional Chinese ink painting as the carrier, Yu Lanyin also deeply pays attention to the relationship between nature and the mental health of human beings. She is committed to bringing spiritual cleansing to the audience through her works and realizing the buffering and fusion significance of art healing in the current world. She heals herself in painting, and the viewer finds the meaning of life in watching.

虞兰因祖籍浙江宁波,幼时随父母赴台湾,毕业于台湾大学,获学士学位(BA),20岁时在台北市中山堂举办首次个展,同年9月获全额奖学金赴美深造。在美国University of Louisville 获艺术创作、艺术史双硕士学位(MFA)。后在纽约Art Student League 随Will Barnet大师工作深造多年。

资深策展人,艺术顾问;曾在北京、深圳双城深耕当代艺术领域十余年,2017年在深圳创立本土知名艺术品牌:何止艺术;拥有多年文化艺术版块战略经验及操盘政府大型艺术基金项目落地经验,为各大全球500强上市公司提供艺术领域咨询服务。杨羡毕业于湖南师范大学艺术学院,法国圣埃蒂安高等商业学校(ESC)工商管理学士,于2011年-2015年出任北京寺上美术馆副馆长,2019年-2021年出任深圳至美术馆馆长,曾任“第二届中国设计大展”项目负责人,新锐设计师与艺术家联盟策展委员会委员,所做展览多次获得国家优秀艺术项目奖项。
