写作100天Day 58《那些命运的转折点》之我的教师考编之路(42)
心中有光,无惧黑暗。
Will the traditon of writing letters disappear as modern communicative tools are sowidely usednowadays?
Emails, phone calls, wechat messages have been the most popular ways of communication with their ease andimmediacy, especiallyforthe young and thebusinessmen.Whileletters, which can bedelivered to the recipientsafterdays' or even months'travel from one region to another, arethought tobe in danger of disappearance.
Apparently, modern communicativetools have theirincomparablestrengths.First, they allow users to not only talk with, but also sharepictures or videoswitheach other any time they want, making theircommunicative moreinteractive and entertaining. Second, emergencies can be dealt with at once, therefore, efficiency can be greatly enhanced. Third, emails and messages can be stored electronically on servers and mobile phones, and can be duplicated online, but letters always need physical space for storage.
In spite of this,I am still in faith that the tradition ofletter-writingwill not be lostcompletely. For one thing, letters take much more time and energy than just typing or talkingon a computer oron a phone, and it helpstoexpress deeper emotions. If parents get handwriting postcards from their children on Thanksgiving Day, they are sure to be very happy. For another, handwriting letters canbetter suited to formaloccasions for businessand officialpurposes.
From all thestatements mentioned above,I do believe thatdespitethe advantagesmoderncommunicative wayshave in efficiency, ease of use and storage, are quite obvious, the tradition of letter-writingwill continueto play a significant role in our lives out of avariety ofpersonal and business purposes.
