My Hobbies

When you write a C.V., you must encounter a blank space for "hobby" or "interest". And do you really have a hobby or hobbies? And what's a hobby like? Its meanings are difficult to define, but no so difficult to identify. If one really have a hobby, after class or after work or in any free time, he will be eager to get touch with it. This is a wonderful thing. When doing this, he feels free of yourself. In his world, nothing could distract him, only his hobby could attract him, entertain him and bring him to his fairy lands. How fantastic it is. I believe hobby is indispensable in one's whole life.

There are many hobbies. Someone likes music. He must know about John Lennon more than me. Someone if fond of drawing. Maybe the story of Darwin. C. is always on his lips. Other men may be sports fans, or else. What I shall say is that hobby can not be judged, the value just depends on how much you love.

As for me, I used to have two hobbies, collecting stones and carving.

When I was very young, about 7 years old, my teachers have taught us a lesson about stones. She told us how to sort the stones, the use of some special kind of stones, and encouraged us to learn the stones. After that class, I began to pay attention to the stones. I collected all the special stones and tried to differentiate them. Though there are heavy stones in my bag, I felt full of happiness in my heart. At that time, my dream was to recognize as many stones as I can. On the contrary, in my collection, the sorts are quite limited. How naive I was. Causes I collected stones only on my way to school, my ideal was unfeasible. When I have grown up, I knew more and more beautiful stones. Such was my first hobby during my primary school time.

When I was in grade 2 of my college life, I fell in love with carving. That is a traditional art of China. On August 3rd of 2003, a exciting day, Chinese seal dancing Beijing was published as emblem of the Olympic 2008 in Beijing. The old art became fashionable again. Love happens when passion meets opportunity. I had the chance to learn carving in optional course. First, you have to chose a kind of stone for practice. The stone should not be very hard and not be very soft. The teacher chose Qingtian Stone for us. You also need a special knife. The knife point is very sharp. If you hold unstably, you could get hurt. on your fingers. Thus, carving is a little dangerous hobby. A good masterpiece is on the price of strength, dedication and hurts. At first, you just imitate the designs of others. When you make progress, you can design some by yourself. In my class, frankly speaking, my performance was not good. But I stick to do better. Success is not coming by praying. Nothing is granted for free. Finally,I got the compliments from my teacher.

The cultivation of a hobby and new forms of interest is therefore much important to everyone. But this is not a business that can be undertaken in a day or swiftly improvised by a mere command of the will. The growth of alternative mental interests a long process. The seeds must be carefully chosen; they must fall on good ground; they must be sedulously tended, the the fruits can be yielded.

If you have a hobby, try your best to love it. If not, you can choose one that you like. I believe you can gain much from it.
