The Journey Beyond
盛夏未已,译一首寒冷的诗,《遥远的路程》
The Journey Beyond
- Fourteen lines dedicated to the snow at the beginning of 1989
by Haizi
Thick dust amasses on my lamp and wine jar
Yet the journey beyond remains spotlessly clean
Here I stand in the heavy snow of January 7, the same man as four years ago
Here I stand, filthy and dusty. Four years passed, like one single day. Nothing changed
Snow adds to the darkness inside the room. Tomorrow, if a sunny day
Snow under the sun will bring pain to the eyes. This is the snowfield shaming a man
And those lonely, dark eyes. How desperately they crave for the snow to break into him
The trees on the snowfield are all dark. As dark as the birds in the sky
At that moment you would be delighted, saddened, deranged
Today, only for me the snow falls, to reflect my filthiness
I am but an empty shovel
A shovel so empty that carries not a single grain of dust
Snow keeps falling
Just like in the Land Beyond - It is the name of the ground I stand upon
