18 ROBIN REDBREAST
Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a tree, Up went Pussy-Cat, down went he, Down came Pussy-Cat, away Robin ran, Says little Robin Redbreast: “Catch me if you can!” Little Robin Redbreast jumped upon a spade, Pussy-Cat jumped after him, and then he was afraid. Little Robin chirped and sang, and what did Pussy say? Pussy-Cat said: “Mew, mew, mew,” and Robin flew away.
[NOTES] A robin is a bird that has a red front (breast). Robin was as popular bird in old England. In this rhyme, the robin is chased by a cat down a tree. Children often use the word pussy-cat to talk about a cat. The robin sits on a farm tool (spade) and the cat again chases him. The robin makes a bird sound (chirp) and the pussy-cat makes a cat sound (mew). Then the bird goes away.
这在我看来是部奇幻剧。 坐在树梢上玩的小孩罗宾遭遇生存危机——大魔王凯特从上头经过这就要向下一扑将他捉住。 罗宾初生牛犊，临危不惧，边逃跑边叫嚣道——“有种你就来追我呀！” 然而，嘴炮好说不好用——直到罗宾逃上了铁锹，凯特仍在步步紧跟，而此时，罗宾终于知道害怕了。 “啾啾”—— “喵——”大魔王露出本相嘶吼相喑。 罗宾只能抖抖索索、挥动本体化出的翅膀飞走了。 由此，知更鸟罗宾败走，喵霸大魔王再一次守护了自己的安宁噢耶！喵—— 就是说的这么一个事情。 然而，把这个故事变成童谣怎么这么麻烦……
18 红襟知更鸟
树上落下一只鸟， 鸟儿顶上过路猫， 猫儿跳下把鸟扑， 猫儿扑，鸟儿跑， 鸟儿跑，嘴不歇： 你倒是来追我呀！ 鸟儿逃到铁锹上， 猫儿还紧跟后头， 鸟儿心里多害怕。 啾啾啾啾啾啾救， 瞧瞧猫儿怎么应？ 猫儿它是这样应： 喵喵喵喵喵喵妙。 鸟儿吓得飞走了。
