关于引号，英文和中文差异较大，原来上学时写的都是错的。老师，这是为什么？

提示语在后
引号内句子末尾用逗号。

提示语在中间：可以将提示语去掉，判断句子中应该用什么标点。
引语被拆成两部分，XX说后面的标点为逗号，第二部分首字母不能大写。如果前面的句子说完了，XX说后面的标点为句号，后半部分首字母大写。

当提示语是个强调动作（如他点点头）的完整句子，而不单是XX说的时候，句子末尾可以用句号或其他标点结束，且后面的字母要大写。参考：Book Cave
另外，美式英语逗号在引号内，英式在引号外。吼烦银！

关于缩写词的标点用法
句子以缩写词结尾，缩写词末尾的句号同样作为该句的句号，不用写两个句号。如果句子末尾应该用逗号、问号、感叹号的话，可以添加。

Use a period with abbreviations:
Dr. Espinoza arrived from Washington, D.C., at 6 p.m.
Notice that when the period ending the abbreviation comes at the end of a sentence, it will also suffice to end the sentence. On the other hand, when an abbreviation ends a question or exclamation, it is appropriate to add a question mark or exclamation mark after the abbreviation-ending period:
Did you enjoy living in Washington, D.C.?
