今天早晨我去北京安家楼55大使馆签证，被check了，打算趁着记忆还热乎写下来。

早上打车去大使馆，在路口停下，走到了大使馆对面的使馆便民中心，安检包，有很多东西不能随身携带，中心里面有存包处，在里面坐着听广播，广播会叫时间，叫到时间从另一个门出去排队，排了大约40分钟，有人带队，到路对面，继续排队，排到一个站岗的地方，给police看护照，ds160确认页，签证预约时间页，进去，再排队，第二个岗，护照贴条再次出示签证预约时间页，然后再次安检，这次很严格，安检完出门，排队。

等进入了使馆，排队，拿出护照和1-20给工作人员。看完之后，去录指纹，左手四指，右手四指，两个大拇指，然后上二楼，排队，等待面签。我是最后一排的第一个，工作人员说，你是一个人吗？我说是，她说，那你跟我走，就把我这一排的人迁到了另一个房间，等待面签，这个屋子人少一些，但是我还在最后一排。

等到我面签了，我是第40号窗口，前面有一个人，在说话，但是签证官白人男性提出要去洗手间，于是签证官走了，我旁边的39号窗口有两个人，等了一会只有一个，工作人员看到了对我说，如果39号先完事，你就去39号。如果40号先完事，你就去40。之后她也没有再给39号叫人。

39号先完事，我就去了。M is me and O for officer.

O: Your passport and I20.

M: Good morning.

O: Morning. Passport and I20.

M: Here are they.

O: So you are going to XXX University.

M: Yes.

O: What degree?

M: Management Science and Quantative Methods.

O: Good. How old are you?

M: I am 27. Just turned 27 today.

O: Oh. So what did you do in China before?

M: I acutally was not in China. I was working in US for the past almost 4 years.

O: Oh, please give me your job letter.

I gave him the 1797 approval letter and job verification letter from HR.

O: So you were on H1B visa.

M: Yes.

O: You were working for XXX.

M: Yes.

O: Why you quitted your job?

M: I do not see a career path in the company. I don't think I will ever get promoted.

O: So you decided to go to XXX University.

M: Yes.

O: What are you going to study?

M: Machine learning and data analytics.

O: Machine learning.

M: Yes.

O: Who will be paying for your tuition?

M: I will be paying for myself.

O: You got a tuition waiver?

M: Yes.

O: So you have an assistantship?

M: Yes I have a graduate research assistantship.

O: Please give me the documents.

M: What documents?

O pointed on a piece of pink paper. It says: DS160申请表格，个人简历，学习计划，导师简历。

M: Here are all the documents.

O: Okay. At this time, we cannot grant you a visa. In your case, we need to do administrative processing and it will take 3 to 4 weeks. Any questions?

M: Will I be notified by phone or by email?

O: By email.
