The sun-lights shine on the grasses
早晨，阳光照在草上
We stand upon the door
我们站着，扶着自己的门扇
Low the door is, but the sun shines

The grass is seeding

We just stand, without saying anything

In the morning, the dark keeps the travelling
早晨，黑夜还要流浪

The land is rough, sometimes narrow

《门前》是一首童心外溢的诗，写于1982年8月，词句平淡明白，以儿童般的遐想完成节律。是的，“墙后的草”还用“再长大”吗？当“它只用指尖，触了触阳光”的一瞬间，不正是整个生命历程的完美体现吗？ 《门前》的确是一首“童话诗”，它轻轻地抹去了遥远未来的光环，只是在心和景交接的一刹那，向我们展现了全部的美好。 这是首典型朦胧派作品，顾城表达的大约是爱情方面的感受，朦胧诗的创作会运用很多特殊的手法，像象征，跳跃，意象，隐喻，比喻，等等，因而朦胧诗本身就具有了多义性，但我们要看出诗作的基本感情，感受作品带给我们的第一印象之美，朦胧之美。 你走过堤岸，可以理解为象征手法，即堤岸可能是象征某一段时间，海水忧郁地并排着走，海水的忧郁是深沉的，他们各自并排着走或与堤岸上的你并排着走，你走过长长的堤岸，走过了某些事还没有改变时，还没有物是人非时的这条堤岸的两端。
