课程基本目的和形式
如何扩展和深化中国治理研究的理论构建?从事政治学与公共管理学习的研究生如何提高自身理论分析水平和理论综述写作能力?完成这些目标,需要在学养累积中,超越单一学科中层理论的局限,在跨学科的理论视角整合中,不断扩展学者的理论想象力和理论构建能力。本课程代表了这样的努力。
本课程教学内容涵盖政治学与社会学中与“治理”相关的基本理论。教学目标:1)培养研究生的跨学科理论素养和理论想象力2)理论综述性论文写作能力。具体包括:
从政治学与社会学全面理解什么是理论;
奠定研究生从事治理研究的基本理论知识;
学会抓住理论文章中重要的理论点;
学会通过理论文本的细读(close reading)理解理论内涵的复杂性;
通过泛读发现理论间如何对话;
学习如何在方法论指导下将经验研究上升为理论;
并最终将上述理解落实于扎实的理论综述性文章写作中的能力。
课程阅读和讨论部分为四大板块:
1) 方法论:通过讲授和讨论,学生理解社会科学质性研究和定量研究的主要方法论流派对理论的不同理解及其在理论化方式上的差异。理解经验研究必须通过自恰的方法论逻辑才可以上升到理论。
2) 理论视角:这一模块涵盖八大理论视角。包括:个体、制度结构、过程机制、国家、发展、文化、权力、匹配。课上要求每组同学对自己的阅读作细致的梳理,并给全体同学做报告。教师会随时引导提问。这一阶段我们希望加深学生对理论逻辑复杂性的认识。
3)中层理论:这一模块涵盖政治学和社会学与中国治理相关的各分支领域的中层理论。包括五个部分:政体差异与转型、社会治理、国家建构、发展的政治经济学、福利国家与再分配的政治经济学。这一学习阶段为理论泛读阶段。结合阅读文献,老师在课上提出问题,学生参与讨论。这一阶段我们希望引导学生学会如何迅速抓住理论间对话要点。
4)理论综述写作训练
课程主要培养学生写作理论综述文章。这是研究生论文的理论部分所必须的能力。好的文章需要在反复讨论中不断打磨。本课程提供这样的训练机会。课程将提供理论综述文章范本,组织学生讨论文章写作方式。我们还将用2-3次课程循序渐进的指导学生写作理论综述文章,并不断打磨成令人满意的文章。在这样的过程中,引导学生逐渐领会如何将思考落实到写作之中。
课程要求
本课程的顺利展开有赖于学生的积极参与和认真投入,而兴趣是最好的老师。除非有特殊情况,每位选课的同学一学期缺席不能超过2次。否则没成绩。
第一板块主要为任课教师讲授,要求学生阅读布置的文献。
第二板块为精读训练。要求学生按照自己兴趣题目分组阅读,每位学生负担至少两个专题。打**是所有同学必须读的。 由各小组对负责的专题中的每篇文章进行细读。在课堂上每组成员分别就某1-2篇文章作细读报告。通过教师的不断提问和同学间的讨论,引导学生逐步学会如何抓住理论文献的要点,并对理论逻辑的复杂性展开充分分析。
第三板块为泛读训练。要求每位同学阅读全部文献。抓住文献如何对话,互相的差异如何。上课时候就教师提出的问题展开发挥和讨论。
第四板块:课程还将进行2-3次理论综述写作的讨论。要求学生首先阅读课程布置的理论综述范文。理解论文的写作方式。选择某一个理论领域写作初稿。在课上就初稿展开讨论。最终要求打磨出一篇具备发表水平的理论综述文章。
课程考核
1.理论文献综述作业:批判性的分析某一问题已有的理论进展。形成一个报告。-- 60%的成绩
2.教师会在课堂讨论的最后两周留意在课堂提问中考察学生的阅读进步情况。这并不是要求学生可以回答所有问题,而是主要看学生是不是有了进步。--40%的成绩
