About Dr.House
Just finished watching the last season of Dr. House (S08 except another SP). I don't know how to comment on this TV because I am not a medicine related student, and I do not quite understand most of the characters' discussions about the symptons, dieases and treatment in this TV show.
Actually I was wondering how could such a show be lasting for over 8 years. Every episode is developing with about the same pace and structer—symptons appeared, doctors' diagnoises, faulse treatment, got a light bulb somewhere else and then successfully cured the patient. If it's not because of those various wired symptons and diseases, I may give up Dr. House wthin 4 or 5 episodes in S01. And more, main doctors' conversation, especially when discussiong about those professional things, seem to be way too difficult to get into that I've almost gave up thinking why the doctors changed their treatment after some altered symptons. Perhaps 60 percent is understandable to people like me.
But still, I didn't quit it. I prefered watching House's teasing with his colleagues and best friend Wilson while solving patients' mysterious dieases. I like House being bastertad as he is, and Taub, Chase, 13 and others' tolerance in withstanding House's tricks.
Never cared about the patients (even didn't want to see them), being irresponsible and asshole in dealing with relationships and other stuff. An anti-hero doctor. And this is House. Today's audience has been fed up with medical related TV in which main characters always behaving nicely and gentlely in curing patient with their extraordinary skills, which makes them boring and plain. But House is different.
He is a good guy, so to speak. Just behaved awfully like an asshole. He cared about the life of every patient instead of caring the feelings of the patient, which seems contradicted. House could even save their lives which is against the patient's own willingness and gave them a miserable future. He never felt gulty about running a false treatment and painfully hurt others. But in the bottom of his heart he never quited the thought of killing himself. House loves people around him, even though he lived in pain everyday every second, he still lived for Wilson, for people who need him.
