非洲版本的龟兔赛跑
今天读到一个不同版本的龟兔赛跑，据说是非洲的(it is told in various versions in various African cultures), 觉得比伊索的那个有意思－－兔子完全可以跑到终点再打瞌睡，又不是马拉松；要真是马拉松，兔子也可以打完瞌睡再赢乌龟。。新看到的这个版本是这样讲的：
the two animals decide to hold a race to see who can reach the top of the hill near the horizon. the tortoise calls all her brothers and sisters together and has them post themselves along the race course (可是他怎么通知到的呢？也许乌龟拜托鸟帮他传信）。the hare takes it easy and starts to walk a bit. when the hare looks up, he realises that the tortoise has already reached the first bend in the road. the hare starts to run and passes the tortoise. then, the hare looks up again and sees the tortoise ahead of him, at the next turning. the hare passes the tortoise again but, once again, sees him at the next bend in the road. when the hare finally gets to the top of the hill, he finds the tortoise is already there.
