The speaker of this term, Professor Chen is a enthusiastic participant of Rostrum for Everyone. Although before she was major in Chemical and now as a professor teaches Physics in university and makes biological experiment study, Chen has a speical interest in Wang Xiaobo. Below is a her brief introduction of this activity and herself.
当我从陀螺般飞转的生活里稍稍停顿下来的时候，总会觉得异常的孤独和绝望。这时，如果有一段文字恰好和心灵产生点滴共鸣，便是从低落处解脱的良方，我就像梦幻般突然来到了宁静、清新而又充满花草香味的森林。
My life is like a gyro ; I am busy in living; it is busy in spinning. Even though when I can slightly get a pause from the busy life, I usually feel abnormal lonely amd desperate. At this moment, if just right there is a piece of writing corresponding to my heart, it is cure for me to turn into high spirits from black mood, as if I come into a dream where is a forest. It is quiet, fresh and full of flowers and plants' fragrance.
王小波的杂文对我常有这样的疗效。他在诗意气氛的沉思与放浪形骸的狂野之间往来跳跃。他对自由的追求、科学的推崇、理性原则的坚持，社会的批评，用充满着离奇故事和黑色幽默的语言作载体呈现出来，读来酣畅淋漓。然而，他生活的时代又是那样特殊，那些说不尽的饥饿和说不清的斗争，在他的血和肉里留下了鲜明的烙印。他可以平静的拿当时的经历来调侃，在我看来，那是痛苦发酵过后的释然和智慧，以及慈悲和仁恕。
Yes, Wang Xiaobo's essays are that kind of writing which always has the curative effect for me. Sometimes, he sank in poetic atmosphere. Sometimes, he became wild regardless of everything. He leaped between these two different world. With the help of his fantastic stories and the black-humor kind of language, we can read out his pursuit of freedom, praise of science, persistence of reason and critcizing the society. His essays make readers so delight and cheerful. Actully, he lived in a so special age when there are contiuous and unbearable hunger and intense and complex struggle, all that left a distinctive mark in his flesh and blood. However, he can still peacefully make fun of those experiences. In my opinion, it is a type of ease, wisdom, mercy, benevolence and forgiveness after he surpassed his suffering.

I, as the speaker of this term, in 2009 accidentally came in The Corner Cafe and became the member in first batch. I think I am a person who still have hope for life. No matter the preparation or the presentation, both are a relearning process. When our two souls meet by chance at a crossing, how beautiful the collision will be!
