When I was six, I asked my dad for a puppy. He said we couldn’t afford one.
六岁的时候，我恳求爸爸让我养只小狗，但爸爸说我们买不起。
The next day, I saw a basket full of Halloween candy that had been sitting there in the kitchen for six months. I took the basket around to every house on the three or four streets around my house. I told people honestly why I wanted to sell them the old Halloween candy they had freely given me. Surprisingly, almost everyone contributed a little bit.
第二天，我看到了厨房里放了有半年的那满满一篮子万圣节糖果。我拎着篮子，绕着家附近的三四条街，挨家挨户兜售这些糖。我很坦白地告诉他们，为什么他们以前送我的糖现在我想卖掉。意外的是，几乎每个人都多多少少买了些。
I took home a little cash and a lot less candy. I gave it to my dad that evening when he got home from work. I asked if it was enough to get a dog. He smiled and said it was.
我回到家，身上多了一些钱，篮子里少了很多糖。当晚爸爸下班回来后，我把钱给了他，问他够不够买一只小狗。他微笑着说够了。
The next day, I took home a new puppy.

Money is usually an excuse.
Parents and people in authority are moved and sometimes convinced by dedicated commitment.
Limitations can be overcome if you’re able to find other opportunities.
Having a cause people care about and expressing that honestly is the only way to get lasting support.

父母也好，那些权力在握的人也好，都是可以被打动的，精诚所至，金石为开。
另辟蹊径有时候会柳暗花明。
想要得到持续的支持，唯一的办法就是设立一个会让大家在乎的目标，同时坦诚的表述给他们。

Once as a kid I lost a tooth, and I wanted to keep it but didn’t have anywhere to put it at the moment.
小时候我有次掉了一颗牙，想留着，但当时又没地方可以放。
So I decided to shove it into my ear.
于是我就把牙塞到了耳朵里。
Then I forgot about it.
然后我就把这事忘掉了。
A couple of weeks later I was deaf on one ear and was taken to see an otolaryngologist.
几个星期以后，我一只耳朵听不见了，被带去看耳鼻喉科。
He said that he’d pulled a lot of weird stuff out of kids’ ears and noses, but never before a tooth.
医生说他从小孩的耳朵、鼻子里掏出过很多稀奇古怪的东西，但掏出牙齿还是第一次。
Lesson learned: your ears are not storage compartments!

一个深刻的教训。
I cut a pomegranate on my table, clicked the picture of dark red stain, along with the knife and some used tissues and sent it to few of my friends and family members. JUST the picture and no texts.
我在桌上切了个石榴，然后把一把刀和一些用过的纸巾放在暗红色的污渍旁，拍了张照，发给家里人和要好的几个朋友。只发了照片，什么字都没写。
It was then followed by a huge number of calls, messages and my hostelmates knocking my door.
然后电话一个接一个，短消息一条接一条，我的室友直接过来砸门了。
I am never doing such a thing again :|
我再也不会干这种事了。:|
