【1】“spring is sprung”：对这句含义拿不太准，上中文网查了一下，搜索结果里唯一有点沾边的是这么一句：“This spring has been sprung. 这只弹簧已经被拉松，弹不回去了。”——因此，我觉得还是自己最初的理解（“春天被跳过”）靠谱些。出于好奇还看到有一篇里面说到一部叫《弱点》（The Blind Side）的电影用了'Cello Song做开场曲。
在英文网上找到一首作者不详的诗里有这一句：

Down in North Carolina, your “Spring is sprung, grass is riz” poem has been a favorite for years. I don’t know the name of the author, but I object to seeing it published over somebody else’s initials.

I think you will find that this was originally written by Ogden Nash, an American poet well known for his humorous verse.

My 9th grade (1973) English teacher always spoke it as:
“Spring is sprung,
The grass is riz,
The boid is on the wing—
My woid, how absoid!
I thought the wing was on the boid.”

“Spring is sprung”，带有这句的诗的作者到底是谁貌似就是个迷了，从wikipedia上查了一下Ogden Nash，感觉“the bird is on the wing / the wing is on the bird”挺符合他的“humorous poetry”风格的。我更关注的还是“Spring is sprung”到底是什么意思——这一通看下来，觉得起初理解成“Spring is skipped”是不对的，恰当的理解应该是“Spring is released”。
【2】“You would seem so frail”：为了照顾汉语的语序，这句放到了“Go out to fight”之后翻译。
这一首“大提琴之歌”是Nick Drake的第一张专辑《Five Leaves Left》中的第六首，里面的大提琴手叫做Clare Lowther。1969年这张专辑发行时Nick才21岁，五年后他就离开了这个残酷的世界。
Robert Quine在1969年用他的单声道卡式录音机录下的The Velvet Underground若干现场，后来在2001年正式发行，就是那个三CD的合辑《Bootleg Series Volume 1 - The Quine Tapes》——靴腿版也能正式发行，VU其时为外界所忽略的程度由此也可见一斑。在我看，和VU比起来，Nick Drake当年所受到的待遇有过之而无不及（至少前者还有Andy Warhol罩了一阵）。也举一个可见一斑的例子：成年Nick只留下一些照片，而没有被任何视频捕捉到。1999年的记录片《A Skin Too Few - The Days of Nick Drake》的末尾选用了一段Nick和姐姐、父母在海边的家庭录影，那时的Nick看起来也就四五岁的样子。
