Working Note[19]
When I looked back to my old blog, I found there was no specific ending of the year 2013 or 2012. Well, I am wondering if I can make a brief summary of year 2013 here.
I should start with key words from err... ...
[Suzhou] I have moved to live and work in SIP since last April and I have been working here for almost 8 months. What a long time! How time flies! I have been assigned duties from different department including Quality Dept, HR Dept, and P&D Dept. I was responsible to report to manager and vice gm that covered a variety of jobs. I have been through a tough time to understand that all the company are dysfunctional, hence I have learned to live in harmony with my current working environment. In the meantime, I am reaching out for possible career choice now. I am looking forward to joining in LDProgram about supply chain management in cat, however, I was not sure if I can make it finally. I am still fighting hard for that chance.
[Mentor] Over the time mentor jiaping has given me frequent support and instructions on how to get things done right. One advice is when you are young, you grow. When you are ripe, you rot. Stay young, stay hungry. Another advice is be critical and think independently, in particular when you are reporting to big potato. I guess right. After working for HR dept, I have got a better understanding on the value and objectives of my work. I am also favored in communication and coordination that helps me to produce solutions for a variety of problems. I enjoyed that. I also enjoyed planning and constructing in the case of HR business and Customer service business. For example, I spent hours drawing flow chart of customer service procedure as well as performance management work procedure.
[Prof. Tom] Again over the time, Tom has given me frequent support and instructions on how to get things done right in the first time. Tom has introduced me many simple concepts that can be applied to work smartly. For example, treat you people as you want be treated. This is actually a really simple concept that has benefited me a lot in my work, as helps me to grow my own leadership. Tom also shared with me the fundamentals of key performance appraisal management. Yet Tom is regarded as a team partner that we together work on the job hunting for the next stage. I know it's been a lot of work to fight for the goal. I cannot present any result so far. I used to have two meals with Tom and each time I had learned a lot from the conversation over the meal. Well, I think I enjoy more of conversation than delicious food. LOL
[LC] I think Lan has renewed his network image this year by talking together a few many times. Lan is a physicist and philosophy. Lan is an interesting guy, anyway. Lan has sharpened pretty a lot views.
[Doc and Alice] I came back to univ city to visit Doc and Alice last May Holiday. I miss them so much. Nan Tong city has changed a lot over the time. I am looking forward to next visit to Nantong.
[Dad and Mom] Dad and mom had been contributing a lot to support me to work and live in Suzhou over the time. This is true, and it is also the same with Rezi. I love Rezi of course, however, I am also feeling stressed and reluctant to use it more often. Honestly, I cannot afford it and yet I cannot drive well in many situation. I always put myself in difficult road situation that felt so frustrated myself. I know in the coming new year, I should try to make more money and also learn to drive better. I am coming back tomorrow to meet with dad and mom. I am taking a train home instead of driving. I start to be fed up with driving long way between two cities. I want to stop it. I want to go back to home city and home town to start a new life.
[Toastmasters] I didn't attend meetings as often as last year upon my adaptation of Suzhou life. I made a full attendance month of November where I came and joined in five time every Saturday. I made it at least once a year~ I was also present at the last Toastmasters meeting like year 2012, where I gave a speech. We had fun skating and we had meal together. We had a new member that really looks alike Elvis yangyang with regard to their voice style and appearance. Well, their faces look different, of course. I am not sure if I am the first one to identify it. Well, in fact, two senior members of Elvis Yangyang and my mentor Jiaping had quit Toastmasters stage since last September that upset me a bit. This is reasonable because they have found larger stage in their career and life.
[Dafo] Dafo has been another of my team partner in the job hunting team that has helped and encouraged me to fight for the goal. Over the months, we had been talked a lot of work experience and the new know-how. I think this is part of way how we learn to grow and develop. It is also due to Dafo that I managed to visit Cat factory a few times over the months that helps me to learn about cat's culture and working environment. I think the theme color yellow and black fits for me. :-D
[Linda]& Cousin Fangfang It's been after the trip to Suzhou that I got more connected with Linda, who gave me a lot advice of living and clothing. Well, I hasn't paid enough attention to my appearance yet. Two weeks ago, cousin-in-law fangfang treated me to the hair salon for a new change. Haha, wow, a new look truly. People said I look much better than the previous hair style. I guess so.
[Uncle Teengen] I really like uncle Teengen because of his leadership and management style.Yes, he is also patient and to detail. When I told mom last weekend about uncle Teengen, mom commented that uncle has been really nice to me after spending so much time talking with me. Yep, good luck with uncle Teengen's new year new change! We are both embracing new change in the upcoming new year 2014.
[Mao] I really like Mao too because he is recommended to Toastmasters by my mentor Jiaping. We got to know each other and are getting familiar with naturally. Over the time, I talked to Mao about my plan and shared with my thoughts, I got to talk to Mao a lot more about career and Toastmasters club development. Both of us believe that we should apply company management tool into club management including KPI, kanban meeting and so on. It was back to the first week of November that we got frequent contact with each other about the potential crisis of club development, and that we management to organize an officer meeting that revoke the spirit of offices and especially president, as supposed. Job well done! As I am also planning to join in supply chain field, I will have more chance to talk to Mao about profession and interest. :-D
[NJ Conference 2013] I know it is a pity that I cannot be there for the last moment. Whereas, I am really glad to have known Elvis yangyang and Byran and Eric through team cooperation. I showed much interest in project management via conversation with Elvis yangyang over nights and hours on QQ voice call. I believed that it really gave me much experience of organizing online meeting and making meeting minutes when I was still working in the government office. When I joined in Raleigh Camping, I applied the concept of PM and PR into making a historical remarkable gathering meal of whole four teams for the first time. That surprised most of our instructors, when everybody stressed on competition. I promoted the concept of cooperation and helping each other.
I think that's all that I can remember now. I should continue to fight for the goal in the honor of my glory team. LOL Yep, I think that's part of Emily's style that we should always stay positive and open, and that have fun, or create fun and enjoy fun, though I have been really stressed these time to make happen the change.
