Trustlines was created to address one of the most powerful aspects of humanity. Trust.
Trustlines' inception began in 2009 when two long time friends were throwing around the idea of an app that would help them discover wine recommendations more efficiently. As they vetted the idea, they realized the paradox of social networks: they are full of casual friends and acquaintances, but in the real world, valuable word-of-mouth comes from a very small circle of trusted relationships. In fact, Lou and Darren realized they typically sought wine recommendations from just the 3 to 4 friends they trusted most.
However, creating an online community comprised only of one's "trusted few", eliminates the whole benefit of the social web. As they connected the next dot, Lou and Darren had the epiphany of Trustlines: their "trusted few" for wine recommendations also had their own "trusted few". It was quickly confirmed that the interconnection of these small personal nodes of experts represented something much bigger, the world's first trust graph.
Beginning with the Trustlines app, this tight knit family of entrepreneurs aims to bring their invention anywhere opportunities exist to enhance how people discover. People helping people enjoy more from life. It's what it's all about.
