【旅游】2014年起故宫逢周一全天闭馆

自2014年1月1日起，除法定节假日和暑期（每年7月1日至8月31日）外，故宫博物院将实行周一全天闭馆。
Palace Museum to close every Monday
The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, will be closed to the public every Monday for renovation and maintenance from next year, it announced Monday.
The former imperial palace has been closed on Monday afternoons this year. The closure is being extended to cover the whole of Monday from Jan. 1. On Mondays, ancient architecture will be renovated, cultural relics protected and museum staff will receive training, said a museum spokesman.
On public holidays and Mondays during July and August, the museum will be open, the spokesman said.
Located in the heart of Beijing, the Forbidden City was home to China's emperors and was the highest center of power for about 500 years. It attracts more than 14 million visitors annually. (Xinhua)
 
                
                
据了解，自今年1月故宫实行周一下午闭馆措施以来，故宫的观众接待压力有所减轻，对故宫古建筑修缮、藏品保护和观众服务产生了积极作用。
实行周一全天闭馆，是为了给故宫“平安故宫”在建项目的开展，腾出更多空间和时间，及时开展对故宫古建筑和文物藏品的检查保养，定期对展览设备及服务设施进行维护。
据了解，闭馆是本市大部分博物馆的惯例，像国家博物馆、首都博物馆、自然博物馆等大型博物馆，几都是逢周一闭馆。主要原因是，古建筑和文物比较“脆弱娇贵”，需要定期维护和保养。就故宫而言，大量客流不间断地涌入古代宫殿群，难免对古建造成一定损伤。
