Rachel Getting Married
A problem girl in a problem family. The wedding ceremony of her sister exposes almost all the conflicts and struggles. The director is rather detail-oriented, sensitive and sympathetic, which I admire a lot, except for the long takes that make me dizzy.
The death of Ethan reminds me of "the Bathing Woman". At the end, when Kim returned to the treatment centre, I said, "She is just taking a small break for Rachel's wedding! Only several days! Why can't they be a little more tolerant to her?!" Jo said, "Concentration! All problems must be concentrated in a two-hour movie so you can watch and understand and comment!"
Anne Hatheway is better. I like her short hair. But the movie distresses me for the night.
