Meditations |
“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts, therefore guard accordingly; and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue, and reasonable nature.”
- Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus, author of Meditations
Ignoring the Opinions of others.
想想就有趣:这个罗马帝王在自己的笔记里面写到:
Dont worry what other people think of you, it means nothing.
If someone doesn't even like themselves, why do we care whether or not they like us. It makes no sense.
Those people who are most critical with themselves, who like themselves the least are the ones who tend to be the most critical of other people and of us. And the people who really like themselves are the ones who tend to bless us and to see our inner power and radiation over our potential. If we made mistakes, they are cool. They realise they made mistakes themselves as well, they made peace with that, they are not projecting thier issues on to you.
We wanna maintain independence from the good or bad oppinions of others.
There is a mantra of Deepak Chopra: "I am totally independent of the good or bad oppinions of others'". [interesting interesting~~]
Nothing out side of us has the power to affect us. We always have the power to choose how we are gonna to respond.
