1647 年，共和政体剥去其教职之后，赫里克（Robert Herrick）回到伦敦定居西敏斯。 1648 年发表重要诗集《金苹果园》，诗集共收诗作 1200 首。 1660 年查理二世复辟后，再次赴德文郡任职， 1647 年卒于德文郡，享年 83 岁年，德文郡也成了他的葬身之所。赫里克终身未娶。
