royal marines, paras 恩怨之--會從天而降的只有兩種東西
因為para本身的記錄片(近年)實在太少了
所以只好致力於挖掘笑點

In order for this to happen all the Parachute Regiment would have to do the Commando course to earn the right to wear the green beret. This is because the Royal Marines has a higher standard of training than the army. Can't wait for all the red arrows, because the truth hurts.

Not a Marine but am gob smacked at this move. The 2 are very different beasts. The Marine is a more versatile animal when compared against the airborne assault trooper, which unless we are planning on a full on attack against some unsuspecting country, we really have no use for.

Outrageous!! The Parachute Regiment is a far more aggresive unit and prides it's self on its relentless professionalism and constant persuit of excellence. The Marines are a good unit but are not the 'Pit Bull' that the Para's are. I have experienced both courses and have witnessed many a Marine fail Parachute Regiment selection. The RMC course is a tough process, but is drawn out and done at a slower pace and is much less intensive than P Company. The Para's have an 'Esprit De Corps' that is unrivaled elsewhere across the globe. It was not the Para's that surrenderd in the Falklands. it was not the Para's that arrived second in to Port Stnaley. It was not the Para's that recently surrenderd to the Iranians. It was not the Para's that invaded a Spanish tourist beach, totally missing Gibralter.. a country who's very name appears on their cap badge. To mix these two units both excellent in their own right would only dilute the excellence that is the Airborne Forces

Would be a shame, The RM's would find it hard to lower their standards so as to make the Paras feel at home. As we all know a Para is only a Royal Marine with his brains removed. Just kidding guy's, PLEASE PLEASE leave these 2 fine regiments alone, They are by far the finest combat troops the world is ever likely to see. Something us Brits can feel immense pride in.

God is airborne....... he failed the commando course! There's 2 things that fall from the sky...... paras and bird poo! Two things to highlight ROYAL are the best.

Kevin from Portsmouth You seem upset that I suggested the Parachute Regiment should be disbanded, you must be to rant such a load of rubbish! Firstly the Royal Marines that surrendered in the Falklands (57 in number) were ordered to surrender by the Falklands Governer Rex Hunt, they actually were doing rather well against over 2000 argentines, but in the end Governer Hunt ordered thm to surrender, to avoid more bloodshed. The Paras attack on Goose Green was actually failing, hence the amount of NCO's and officers killed in action, because they had to go up front to rally and get the Paras moving as they were pinned down due to bad tactics, even the CO was killed. And the Paras have not done an operational jump since Suez, so what is the point of having them, when not in Para role they are just normal infantry. In conclusion the Royal Marines were formed in 1664 and that means centuries of fighting all over the world, hence the Globe, unlike the Paras formed only in WW2.

As an ex Royal Marine I was surprised that so many Paras have replied, in my experience they had trouble reading let alone writing.As for the gentleman who "had a good laugh"at the Royal Marines badge,well you sould be ashamed to call yourself a soldier in view of the Royal Marines recently killed in action, men whos boots your not fit to lace,as for the proposed merger absolutely not! the Royal Marines have standards way above the Paras.you can post abuse all day on this page but that fact remains!!
