Why was he so stupid enough to come back to the battlefield! Why did he choose those hard misery while abandon his gorgeous wife and lovely son at home!
It is very touching when the black soldier said that he is not ready to die, and he realized not even have a son. It remained me what he said before that he is not ready for a child. For a normal guy, this seemed the normal reaction when someone going through those horrible things, but the hero did not. He seem all figured out what is going on there, always deal with the one of the most dangerous job in the easy and nice way.
Not because of years of training and almost thousand of experience of bomb disposal, also the addiction about what he was doing. May be with no criticize about the war, doing one thing with addiction means somebody already become mastering in some specialized field. Take near ten thousand of time for people to become a master. This man acted like almost insane, like he was conducting a piano concerto with playing the piano himself, all these passions, cautions and guts makes me on fire!
As for the conversation in the HMMWV, the black man asked the hero what is the best way of doing the job. He said he doesn't know either. But I said he does. He knew what his life will be like, he knew that he will end up blowing up, he totally accepted that. That is life, when you adapt something, it will become part of yours.
